Groenholland started working on ground source energy systems in 1995, by designing and installing ground source heat exchangers and developing the first Thermal Response Test rig that could both heat and cool (essential for correct assesment of underground thermal parameters).
Already in 1997 we did our first projects in the United Kingdom and since then we have been active as an installer of turn-key ground (with simultanuous heating and cooling) source heat pump systems with capacities ranging from 100 to 800 kW.
In the Netherlands we focus on consulting acitivities for commecial parties (design and effect studies) and governmental institutes (especially municipalities). Feasibility studies, ground source energy planning and long-term operational efficiency of ground source energy systems are some examples.
Since 2003 we are active in different EU research projects, IEA (International Energy Agency) working groups and national research programmes. We act as peer-reviewer for several international publications and coordinate and teach training programmes for certification of ground-source engineers and installers.
